Vietnam increases its import of pesticides

    According to Vietnam’s “Agricultural News”, according to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, Vietnam’s imports of pesticides and raw materials amounted to US$650 million in the first nine months of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 22.2% compared to 2020.

    China is the main source country for the supply of pesticides and raw materials to Vietnam. From January to September, China's exports of pesticides and raw materials to Vietnam amounted to US$290 million, an increase of 22% year-on-year, accounting for 45% of Vietnam's total imports of pesticides and raw materials. It is worth noting that Vietnam's imports of pesticides from India and Singapore have also increased significantly. In the first nine months of 2021, Vietnam's imports of pesticides and raw materials from India reached US$79 million, a year-on-year increase of 41.9%, accounting for 13.3% of Vietnam's total pesticide imports. ; The amount of pesticides imported from Singapore was US$51 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%, accounting for 13.3% of Vietnam’s total pesticide imports.
