The 57th session of the Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) of the International Food Code has opened in Beijing. Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Zhang Xingwang, Deputy Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in China Xu Ming, World Health Organization (WHO) official Simone Razer, Chairman of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) Alain Azegele, and CAC Secretary General Sara Cahill attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. CCP Chairperson Duan Lifang presided over the meeting.

    The conference will last for 8 days and focus on reviewing the draft recommended standards of the 2025 FAO/WHO Joint Expert Meeting on Pesticide Residues (JMPR), the 2028-2030 Pesticide Residue Assessment Plan and Priority List, and the management of periodic assessments of pesticides without data support. More than 300 representatives from 43 member states, 1 member state organization (EU), and 11 international organizations attended the conference in person, with an additional 100 representatives attending online.
