    The total import volume of pesticides in India in 2025 is 154000 tons (physical quantity), a decrease of 12.1% from 172000 tons in 2024. Among them, 104000 tons were imported from China, a year-on-year decrease of about 7.1% (112000 tons in 2024).


    From the perspective of category structure, the import volume of herbicides is about 97000 tons, accounting for 63.1% of the total, a year-on-year decrease of 10.2% (108000 tons in 2024); 27000 tons of insecticides were imported, accounting for 17.3%, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6% (29000 tons in 2024); 27000 tons of fungicides were imported, accounting for 17.5%, a year-on-year decrease of 8.7% (29000 tons in 2024).


    From the distribution of import sources, China will account for 67% (104000 tons) of India's total pesticide imports in 2025, the United States and Taiwan, China will each account for about 8% (12000 tons), Germany will account for 5% (7000 tons), Israel will account for 3% (4300 tons), and Japan will account for 2% (3000 tons).


    The total export value of pesticides in India in 2025 is 4.38 billion US dollars, a decrease of 27.1% from the historical high of 6.01 billion US dollars in 2024.


    From the perspective of category structure, the export value of insecticides was 1.69 billion US dollars, accounting for 38.7% of the total export value, a significant decrease of 37.9% year-on-year (2.73 billion US dollars in 2024); The export value of herbicides was 1.48 billion US dollars, accounting for 33.8%, a year-on-year decrease of 11.8% (1.68 billion US dollars in 2024); The export value of fungicides was 1.15 billion US dollars, accounting for 26.2%, a year-on-year decrease of 25.5% (1.54 billion US dollars in 2024).
