The European Commission has recently decided to revoke the sales license for the fungicide fenpyrazamine in advance. Starting from January 15, 2025, the EU will no longer allow the use of this fungicide.
Fenpyrazamine has preventive, therapeutic, and anti spore forming effects on pathogens such as Staphylococcus, Candida, and Klebsiella. Previously, this active ingredient was mainly used for cherry trees, strawberry trees, and peach trees. The registration has been extended until May 31, 2026, awaiting final approval. However, the applying company does not support this application.
The European Commission has pointed out that extending the registration period for this substance is no longer reasonable, and therefore a new deadline should be set as soon as possible to allow member states sufficient time to revoke the registration of plant protection products containing this active substance. As a result, its registration period has been shortened to January 15, 2025.
